Squad sessions are for adult swimmers only. Junior competitive coaching is available under our separate programme.

Entry level: You should be able to swim 400m continuously without stopping and be comfortable training in a lane with other swimmers. You don't need to be fast — but you do need a solid base to benefit from coached sets.

Inside a session

No wasted
lengths

Every session is structured and purposeful. A coach is on deck from start to finish — not just to set the session and walk away.

Warm-up & drills

Every session opens with a purposeful warm-up and stroke drills that prime your technique before the main set begins.

Main coached set

The core of the session — intervals, threshold work, speed sets or endurance blocks depending on the current training phase.

Paced targets

Every set comes with target times. Knowing what you're swimming to is what separates structured training from just doing lengths.

Poolside coaching & feedback

The coach watches, gives cues and corrects technique throughout the session — not just during the warm-up.

Progressive blocks

Sessions build across weeks in planned training blocks — there's a structure designed to move your fitness forward, not fill time.

Cool-down

Every session finishes properly. Recovery is part of the training — not something we cut because the clock ran out.

Squad coaching is not lane rental with a coach nearby — it's structured, progressive training with a coach on deck throughout, sets designed for your development and technical feedback built into every session.

Our adult squads run in the morning for swimmers who want to train hard before the rest of the day starts. Sessions are for adults only, and the pace is serious without being exclusive — you need a solid base, but you don't need to be fast.

Come in for a trial to experience the coaching style, group pace and session structure before committing. We use this to place you in the right lane from day one.

Join the squad

Monthly or block-booking membership. Sessions are consistent, progressive and built to fit into your training week without disruption.

Show up, do the work. We track the group's progress and adjust the programme to keep everyone moving forward.

Common
questions

You should be able to swim 400m+ continuously without stopping and be comfortable in a lane alongside other swimmers. You don't need to be fast — but you do need a solid enough base to get real value from coached sets. If you're unsure, enquire and we'll advise honestly.

Sessions follow a consistent structure: warm-up, stroke drills, main coached set (intervals, threshold or speed work depending on the training phase), then cool-down. All sets come with target times and the coach is on deck throughout — giving feedback, adjusting effort levels and making corrections during the session.

Yes — we always offer a trial session before any commitment. It lets you experience the coaching style and group pace first-hand, and it helps us place you in the right lane from the start. Enquire and we'll arrange a trial at a suitable time.

Weekend squad sessions are coming soon. Register your interest via the enquiry form and we'll be in touch as soon as they're confirmed. Swimmers who have already enquired get priority access to the first available slots.
