Herts Swim Coach connects serious swimmers with a hand-picked network of specialist performance coaches across Hertfordshire and North London. We don't list anyone who applies — every coach in our network has been vetted against strict qualification, experience and performance standards before they work with a single swimmer.
When you enquire through us, we take the time to match you with the right coach for your discipline, level and goals. Our reputation depends on that match being right — so we take it seriously every time.

standards
Every coach in the Herts Swim Coach network meets the same baseline before they work with any swimmer through our platform. These aren't guidelines — they're requirements.
Swim England, ASA or STA accreditation
All coaches hold current qualifications from a recognised awarding body — Swim England, ASA or STA — at Level 2 or above. Most hold Level 3, and specialist coaches hold advanced discipline-specific awards.
Open water certification
Coaches working with open water or triathlon athletes hold specialist accreditation alongside their core qualifications — including the STA Open Water Coach Award for those delivering sessions at open water venues.
Enhanced DBS clearance
Full Enhanced DBS check required and independently verified before any coach joins our network. Updated as required. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
Valid first aid certification
Current pool and open water first aid certification is mandatory for all coaches — checked on application and renewed as required by governing body guidelines.
Ongoing CPD
Our coaches commit to continuous professional development — staying current with coaching science, technique research, safeguarding updates and athlete development methodology.
Demonstrated track record
Qualifications are the entry point, not the finish line. We look for evidence of real outcomes — swimmers improved, times moved, athletes progressed to the next level.
